Tomorrow we will see what breakfast is like.Rapid City Airport has one main terminal building that serves both domestic and international departures. It’s better than just a lonely ol’ hotel room but I’m really not impressed so far. We had been nowhere in nature- only planes and a shuttle van! We only just got here! Maybe because they allow dogs? 🧐 Ok. What the? My husband was on the couch and found a tick was crawling on him. But just one dishwasher detergent packet for 8 days supplied. Convenience and liquor store is across a busy highway so again you can’t walk. ( we start a tour tomorrow so had no rental car). My phone couldn’t charge properly because the room plugs are worn out and we almost got stranded waiting for a Lyft or Uber to come get us. Uber and Lyft left us practically stranded. I said really? And nothing to be able to cook in to use them for?!” The hotel is located in a commercial area so you can’t walk to restaurants and shopping. Real tea drinkers don’t use microwave water! A ton of empty cabinets in the kitchen. Not what I expected from a Marriot Kitchen has almost nothing in it. I complained upon checkout and they didn't think there was anything wrong w it. My daughter was on the couch putting on her hiking boots and said he knocked once and then just walked in before she could get to the door. I think to see if I was still there? It's 820! He said "oh. The day I checked out, someone from the hotel housekeeping knocked on my door at 820 am. At that point I would have given it four stars. Housekeeping is only on request but they do a good job. Staff couldn't keep up and there weren't eggs one time. Breakfast was not up to residence inn standards. Cons: I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was and they only had prepaid rates. Living and kitchen area were large and well stocked. Pros: Very clean, very little road noise even though right on the highway, convenient location, room was in good shape.
